UV / LED lamp
The lamp that cures gel.
LED lamps cure most modern gels in 30 to 60 seconds; older UV lamps take longer and suit a wider range of products. The lamp has to match the gel — the wrong pairing leaves the layer underneath uncured even though the top feels hard.
Bulbs weaken with use. A lamp that cured fine last year can be the reason sets suddenly start lifting.
